Hey everyone, yes I am still here. Can't believe the time has gotten away as quick as it has. This ain't good for an old person. We have been soooo busy with the house. Got the cielings and floors done, and finally got through with remodeling my bathroom, now to get started on his bathroom. Lord, it is work, work,work, and we are retired. I think we work harder now than before.

  The weather has been so awful the last couple of weeks, rainy and dreary. It has made traveling so dangerous for a lot of people. We live next door to a truck stop and see trucks coming and going all day. For those of you who didn't know, I drove for five and a half years. No, I don't miss it. Some drivers nowadays scare me. Everytime we got into town(which is almost daily)it never fails to see at least 3 truckers driving and texting at the same time. This is not good, especially when you start weaving on the road. It makes that rig a lethal weapon. Last night a car was run off the interstate not far from our house by a careless driver, and the fire dept. ambulance that was stopped to care for that person was rearended by another careless trucker, which caused another bad acccident. Please, if you know, or are a trucker, please, please, do not text while driving! Truckers move America. Please keep moving.  

 Hey all, me here, our house is looking good now. The new roof really looks great. I was really surprised in how fast the workers put the roof on the house, garage, and little pump house out front. They started yesterday morning around 9am and finished today at  1pm. That is including picking up all the trash (the yard looks better than before they started) and putting all the patio furniture back on the deck. At least they had good weather to do it all in. It was 72 this morning and only got as high as 85. Most all the house and garage and pump house are shaded by huge oak trees. So they had it pretty good. Next week we will be getting all new ceilings, can't wait for that, we have been busy packing all the pictures and nic-nacs up so they won't get broken. I hope no one puts anything through my tv. It is a 52" flat screen. I am sure the insurance company will take care of it if they do. But it was a gift from Don so it has special meaning.Time to fix supper so I will wish you all a great evening. Holler back when you can.   

  Hey all, you will never guess. I am writing this from my new computer and new high speed internet. Uh huh. I feel so special. I have been in a very dark and lonely place called dial-up. I actually have suffered stiff and achy joints while waiting to download. Now I can be back here more often and play more with my friends who have joined me on facebook. It is sad that I couldn't even Twitter. It just took too long. I am so grateful to Sprint for the little MiFi contraption that gives me excellent high speed. Now I can view everyone's photo's, video's and listen to their music selections. I am like a kid in a toy store. I have missed you all so much.

  Now that I am back, I expect to get more visits from everyone. Have a great weekend and holler back when you can. MMMMWWWaaahhh.

  Hey all, yes it is finally going to rain, although it will make playing croquet a little more challenging. My grandson is spending the week with me and we had planned on playing a couple of games today. The weather is not going to cooperate, but hey, my poor roses and gardineas and petunias need the rain. The yard is so dry you don't have to mow, just walk on it and the grass crumbles.

  I have added a new friend, Carolyn, welcome aboard. As you can tell by my dates on my entries, I don't get around much like I should, but just to let you know, as well as others, it takes a total of 15 minutes to download this site, another 10min to download my page, and another 5 min to post my blogs. But, you are all worth it to me. I started blogging on this site two years ago and since have went to others like Facebook, Zanga, Myspace (UGH!), and of course Twitter. I have two art sites, Fine Art America, and Drawspace. I just recently started a page on Gamespot as Don has gotten me into gaming,being two old retired people with nothing else to do, :) But I always come back here, this is home to me and have met some of the best people here.

  Just a little announcement: I got my engagement ring Thursday and it is very protty. We haven't set a date yet, still working on that.I will let everyone know when that will be.

  Hey all, hope everyone had a great and safe 4th. My birthday, which was the 5th, went well too. Cake, and cards and phone calls all day. It was cool for a couple of days, but it is heating up again. My oldest daughter and two granddaughters came down for a 3 day visit. We had a good time despite the power going off during a freak rainstorm and doing without air and tv and computer, you know the necessities of life. It was only out for 24hrs but it gave me and the girls some bonding time and relive memories of when they were younger. We drew some pictures and laughed at the silly ones. We really had a good time. Now the other two daughters are coming down this weekend so I will be busy with them.

  Just thought I would share a few more of my newer pictures I have worked on and a couple of new photos. Christa and Emily were taken at graduation. Ain't they pretty. They are my babies. The art work is some of my desperate attempts at watercolor and I am still working with colored pencil (my favorite). Anyway, just so Rhonda and a few others know what I have been up to.

  Hey everyone, just thought I would post a few words to let everyone know I am still around. Well it is official, summer is here. It is going to get up to 97 today. It was 80 at 5:30am this morning. Don't look like I will being doing a whole lot outside today.

  Been really busy lately, bought a new bedroom suite over the weekend and it is sooooo pretty. Light oak four poster bed with all the extra furniture. This weekend I will be getting a new dining room set. I will try to post pics of them later. Every thing is going great, Don and I are sooooo happy. He asked me to marry him and I said yes! of course. We haven't set a date yet but that won't be long. I have to find out what is a good time for all the fam to make the trip. And too, dad just got out of the hospital again. It is his third trip in the last month. His poor old heart is just wearing out. He wants to be able to give me away again. I told him he was bad luck, he has given me away 3 times, but I just keep coming back. So this time he can just watch. :)

  Hope everyone has been enjoying the weather. I know some have had too much rain and are ready for the sun. It is so nice here, I sit on the deck every morning with my coffee and enjoy the birds. I won't get to get on here much after the 30th of July as that is Don's last day of work and we plan to travel a lot. He will be officially retired. His "honeydo" list grows every day :)

Hey, no I haven't forgotten everyone here, my days have started to run out of hours. There is just not enough of them to do everything I have to get done. Update for those who are concerned: Don and I are very happy. We spend all of our free time together making beautiful memories. I know some of you are going "EWWWW...TMI" but, when you reach our age what else is there?

Two of the granddaughters are graduating on the 26th. The oldest (they are only 6 days apart) will be going to ASU, Arkansas State University, with a full 4 year scholorship. The youngest is taking courses in Phlebotomy. Hope I spelled it right. Anyway, I am very proud of both. For those who aren't aware the oldest, is Battalion Commander of the Brookland High School JR Army ROTC, and the youngest, Staff Sargent and Drill Team Commander for the same school. Both girls were in it for 4 years and worked very hard to earn their stripes. This last Military Ball was by far the most important. Both girls were given very prestigious awards both from the Veterans Association as well as the ROTC program.

I would like to thank the new friends I have made and hope they don't get too bored with my ramblings. My older ones, I still keep you in my thoughts and my heart. Out of all the sites I still say this is the best one for making friends. I will try to get around to everyones sites and leave a note but if I don't make it there, at least you know you haven't been forgotten.

Time to get busy and get the house work done so I can get back to a painting I am working on. Feel free to leave a message, a note or anything else that strikes your fancy. I will see it and go "AWWW" and you will know when you feel that little tingle you get when a breeze touches your face.

  Hey, it's me again. Just a little up-date on what has been going on in my world. I went to Jonesboro for the Military Ball, and had a great time. Maybe I am just a little biased, but, I have the best darn grandkids. Emily, who is 17 and Battalion Commander of the Brookland High School JR RORC, won the first ever in 6 years award for the physical training. She was also awarded high honors in so many events they are too numerous to mention. Christa, who is also 17 and Drill Team Commander, won just as many awards. Oh, Emily is also in the Color Guard. Evan, who is 15 won several awards for participation in all events. Just a little bragging there, I am done. Now that I have bored you with that, get ready for more.

   Jonesboro looked like bombs had went off everywhere, damage from the ice storm was evident everywhere you went. They had a rough time of it. Here where I live, escaped the storm. All the bad weather went north of here. Mother Nature's way of cleaning house I guess.

   I am still doing great and look forward to spring and summer. Two of my grandson's will be coming for a visit next week while they are out for spring break. I have lots of things for us to do planned and can't wait for this weekend.

   Hope everyone had a great St. Patty's Day. I grilled a couple of awesome steaks, and spent the evening with my sweetie in front of the TV.

   Now that I have got you up to date, hope to hear from some of you soon.

  Some of you may have been wondering where I have gone, some may not even care, but to answer your questions, yes, I am still here. I still cannot get my stupid space to work right so we get to have Christmas all year long. There is nothing wrong with that, it's just I get tired of looking at the same thing all the time, kinda like my mirror. :)

  Went to the doctor for a check up last wed. and had a good report. He kept me on all the meds, didn't change any of that. He told me if I continued to have problems with the pain I have to learn to live with, he will go in and try to correct it, which in the future will cause more problems. I don't know, I must have missed something, if it is to correct it why would it cause more problems? Oh well, leave well enough alone is what I say.

  To those who care, I am terribly, blissfully happy. My sweetie takes such good care of me. Like today, I was told not to do anything, no dishes, no laundry, nothing. However, I did make the bed. Can't stand it if the bed is not made up.

  Oh, have to give you an update on lil'man Conrad. I am not able to upload any new pics at this time, but he is getting so big and is so devishly cute. He loves to shake hands, smiles all the time, breaks out laughing when I talk to him and he can sit up by himself, and is cutting his first tooth. I get to go to Jonesboro on the 14th for the Military Ball and I will get to see him then. I miss all my kids and family since I moved three hours away, but do get to talk on the phone or email them. We also do live chat, so if some of you have tried to get me and I haven't responded, please don't think I am ignoring you. I am usually on  line with them. I miss you friends here and will make more of an effort to get around to you all, but not to hurt any feelings, my time with Don is top priority. The last love of my life was taken in a car crash, which was so unexpected, so you can understand why all my free time is devoted to him. We never know when the ones we love the most are suddenly gone and you can never get that time back.

  I do visit your spaces when I can, since this is an older version of Windows, some of the photos and videos won't load, but I still love to read what everybody has to say. I have been working on my art a lot more and have several pieces finished and working on more. My grandson had a cross I drew for him tatooed on his leg and it looks great. He said he would only put a masterpiece on his body and that was it. He is waiting for me to do something else for him. I felt honored that he loved it well enough to wear it on his body for the rest of his life. I will try to download it from my phone so everyone can see it.

 Hey all, me here. Tried to change my theme, but apparently it is frozen too. It told me to try later, it had trouble saving my selection. Just wanted to thank everyone for the "good lucks" and "happies". I never thought I could be so happy especially at this time in my life. Just when I had resigned to being alone for the rest of my life. Rest easy everyone that he is taking good care of me, and I him. It just goes to show, you are never too old or too late to find happiness. Now if this computer would just cooperate, I would truly be in bliss. Well as you can probably tell, I have not had time to update my page, not that I know how, since the renovation of spaces. I have been very busy since Christmas, I have met the man of my life long dreams. We are currently making new living arrangements which has put this on hold for a while. I miss you my friends and hope you all had a Happy New Year. Mine is starting out marveolously.

Any help on changing this will be deeply appreciated or you will have to have Christmas in July. I love Christmas, but even I am getting sick of this page. Anyway, everyone have a great weekend. Hugs and love to all.

Now maybe things will settle down. Hope everyone had a great Christmas, know it was hard for some with the economy and all, but as long as we kept the proper perspective that is what was important. For me, I had a good Christmas, spent it with family and friends. Also had two grandkids birthday parties to attend. I am ready for some peace and quiet. This is basically the first time all day I have had the strength to sit up longer than 30min. Guess I overdid over the holidays, had chest pains all day and had to lay around and take it easy. Anyway as long as I can get around to saying hi to everyone here, it was worth it. In the case I don't get around before New Year, I want to wish everyone a happy and prosperous New Year.

Just wanted everyone to know the family Christmas get-together we had here at my house Saturday was a great success. I don't know how we did it, but we had 30 people (counting Conrad) here. Everyone had a great time, we played dirty Santa and only two people were stuck with dirty gifts.

My grandchildren want to come over Christmas Eve and stay the night to have Christmas here, which is fine by me. Since the passing of their other grandmother earlier this year I guess we will carry on the tradition here. I feel honored to do it. I don't know where all of us will sleep, with 8 grandkids, my daughter, two granddaughters' boyfriends, I guess they can sleep on top of each other. At least they will stay warm, lol.

Hey all, with Christmas approaching, I will probably be tied up in getting everything in order until after the first of the year. I have some new photos of my lil guy Conrad. I won't be sitting him for a while, his dad will be taking over, because of the economy he lost his job on Saturday. Hey all, I know you will probably get sick of me posting photos of Conrad at some point, but I can't help it, he is just such a cutie. This is the expression I get from him every morning when he wakes up. He only fusses when his tummy or gums are bothering him. The rest of the time he is just a happy baby. His grandparents are visiting with him for the next four days so I won't get to see him til Monday. I will probably suffer withdrawal until then. Everyone have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving.

  Hey All! Went to see the Twilight movie and was not disappointed. I got a bigger kick out of my granddaughter having such a  great time. I got "Thank you grammy" all the way home.  What can I say. I became all teary eyed when she asked me to sign her Senior Memory Book. All the comments her teachers, friends, and family wrote, especially her mom, made it very difficult to see what I was writing. By the time I finished writing in my other granddaughters book, I was a blubbering mess. I can't believe both will be 18 in Dec. 20th and 26th. It wasn't that long ago they were just babys.

I want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. I know a lot of people may be experiencing a shortage due to the economy, just remember, that is what this day is for.....to be thankful.  Catch you later.
