    Twilight

Well, I have finished reading all the Twilight books, and in my opinion the movie better be equally fantastic. Only 7 more days and my daughter, granddaughter and I will be going to see the movie. I have seen the trailers, and the advertisements and read reviews, I will keep you notified of the outcome of the movie. If anyone sees it before I do, please be a dear and don't tell me about it.
I have been keeping my grandnephew the last couple of days so if I haven't gotten to your spaces please bear with me. It takes a while. Be advised you have all been missed. Have a great weekend and will get there as soon as I can. Hugs.

    My gift

Hey all, just taking a moment to do a little grandma bragging. The newest picture is a gift from my 9 year old granddaughter, Haley. She drew this for me and on the back wrote,"I miss you". I am so proud how she incorporated the dragonfly and flower from the pictures I did for her and her sister. I think she has talent. Of course she gets it from me. Those that know the story about three of my grandchildren will appreciate the bragging. For those that don't, it is a very long, sad story. Anyway, just wanted to share. Have a great weekend everyone.

    New start

Hey all, for all the people who voted for Obama,  HURAY! For all those who voted for McCain, sorry. We will see if the change is for the good or bad. I pray for good. My eleven year grandson was really excited. He identifies with Obama. He too is mixed, his father has abandoned him, and he is more or less raised by his grandmother,(me). He has been floundering in his studies at school, but now has a new outlook on life. "If he can do it, grammy, do you think something great like that can happen to me?" How do you answer that?  "Of course, sweetie, anything is possible." I for one voted for Obama, thanks to him my grandson no longer hates himself and blames himself for his father leaving. He has started to bring his grades up, and is trying harder. My grandson is my Main Man.  Uncle Smiley Proud Liberty Fireworks

Happy Halloween everyone, watch out for all the goblins and ghouls when out and about this evening. For those who don't know the lovely little darling in the latest photos added, it is my first grandchild. She was the one that is responsible for getting me hooked on the Twilight series. We are going to the premier and the movie and pre-ordered the movie soundtrack that will be released on Nov. 4. She is so excited. I know I have nine other grands to spoil, and I do have plans for them also. What else do I have to do with all my retired time. It brings happiness to them and me. I figured since I am not working why not uphold my grandmotherly duties and spoil the phooey out of them.
Have a great weekend and talk to you later!

    Doesn't surprise me

    Your Heart Is Red
You're a passionate lover - you always have a huge fire in your heart.
Too bad it's hard for you to be passionate about just one person!

Your flirting style: Outgoing and sexy

Your lucky first date: Drinks and dancing

Your dream lover: Is both stable and intense

What you bring to relationships: Honesty
Took another one of Rhonda's quizes and it doesn't surprise me that my heart is red. Go figure. If you get a chance to take it, do, it is fun. Have a great week.

    New Favorite Books

    glitter-graphics.com
Ok, I realize some people are going, "She has really lost it now", but those true friends that really know me, know different. I just get carried away sometimes. I am carried away by the new book series from Stephenie Myers. They are the best books I have read in a long time and I have my granddaughter to thank for it. She is an avid reader (gets it after me) and we share a lot of the same interests in books. The song currently playing on my player is one of the songs in the soundtrack of the movie "Twilight" to be released November 21,2008. And yes Christa and I are going to see it even if we have to camp out. My car sleeps comfortable.
Anyway, if you get the chance to read up on the series go to Stephenie Meyer.com and you can also watch the movie trailer.
I can't wait to start on the next book and to see the movie. Oh yea, the books are: Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn. Have a good week.

    Halloween Quiz

What Your Halloween Habits Say About You
You're a friendly person, but not the life of the party. You like making someone else's day - and you'll dress up if you think of a really fun costume.

You definitely think of yourself as someone who has a dark side. And part of having that dark side means not showing it.

Your inner child is full of wonder and very sweet.

You truly fear the dark side of humanity. You are a true misanthrope.

You're prone to be quite emotional and over dramatic. Deep down, you enjoy being scared out of your mind... even if you don't admit it.

You are a traditionalist with most aspects of your life. You like your Halloween costume to be basic, well made, and conventional enough to wear another year.
Hey all, I just took Rhonda's Halloween Quiz and realy don't look at myself as being this kind of person, however, it was fun and they didn't have the choice of halloween costume listed that I would wear. Pop by Rhonda's and take the quiz and discover something about your Halloween self.
    Have a good one!

    Where does time go?

I swear, the time just keeps flying by, by the time I get caught up with everything and everyone on my friends list I look and my posts are so out of date, sheez.
This particular post goes out to new friends, I am sorry if I don't get around to you very often, but it doesn't mean you aren't important. I'm just old and slow. I have had the opportunity to chat with several friends here and have really enjoyed getting to know you. You are all welcome to come chat anytime you see me signed in. I may not be able to get to you right away, but will try to acknowledge you. Just don't go away mad.
To my older friends, you are all well loved and appreciated. Without you I wouldn't be so inspired by some of the things I post.
Have a great week everyone, and to those whose name not be mentioned, a HUGE HUG AND KISS AND LOVE YA MUCH!

    Where I should live

    You Should Live in Missouri
If you don't want to live in Missouri, you might also consider:

    West Virginia
    Arkansas
    Indiana
    Kentucky
    Michigan
I took Rhonda's quizz on where I should live and wouldn't you know it suggested the place I already live.
    Who would have thought it.

    Found old photos

Hey all, just posted some old photos I ran across, the little one on my lap is my granddaughter who graduates from high school this year. She is drill team commander in the Brooklyn High School, JRROTC. They get away so fast. The birthday cake was given to me from my dad, who is holding it, in 2001. Karen and the girls is my youngest daughter Karen, on my space, and her 2 daughters. The one with my lil' sis and I was taken last Thanksgiving. Where does the time go?

Everyone have a great week. Catch ya later!

    Just a quick note

Hey all, just a quick note to tell all my newest friends hello and welcome, come back anytime, stay as long as you like and listen to the music or enjoy the chatter. I'm not really up to blogging much today, chest has been giving me heck all day, starts hurting if I'm up and about much. Since it has been awhile I figured I had better at least say hi, and yes I'm still around.

The weather is so nice here, I can almost hear hayrides, smell smores, and taste pumpkin pie! UMMMM, I'm hungry now. Need coffee! Think I'll get a cup, anyone else?

Have a great week and/or weekend.

    Thank you Rhonda

Hey all, this is just a little thank you from my dear friend and lil sis Rhonda, and you everyone else for the nice comments left on her place about the pic I did of her little angel. Emma has just the cutest little face. The portrait that Al did was fantastic. He is a very accomplished artist. For me, doing faces is the hardest part of drawing, I cheated on Emma's and put a few of my granddaughters likeness in there. My daughter said it looked just like Zoe. Anyway, Emma was the inpiration.

The weather is absolutely gorgeous here today, they are having a block party at a Methodist Church a couple blocks over and from the sound of the music they are all having a great time. I am expecting two of my little nieces in a few minutes and we will probably head over there for burgers, soft drinks, music and fun and games.

Hope everyone else has a great weekend.

    New tunes

Hey all, decided to change the music up a little and add a little Marvin, I took the Rock and Roll test on Rhonda's page and got me all notalgically feeling. So I went back and added my favorites from Marvin. Hope you like it. Oh, by the way, I scored 8 out of 11. Pretty good huh? Just don't ask me about any of the groups from late 80's on. Life was being very unforgiving during that time.

So enjoy the music, and catch you later.

    Yea!!!!!

Sorry to be away for so long. My net was disconnected until today. My sickpay from work finally got started. It has been rough, but I am here now. I will get to draw sick pay for the next six months, so I will be around til then. I really missed coming by everyday. And to the new friends who have invited me hello. I hope those who were affected by Ike are doing well now. It was crazy there for a day or two.
I got to go to my grandson's first football game they won 20 to 12. He made two tackles and intersepted one. We were proud. His dad mostly. My grandson is playing linebacker for the 9th grade. And yes, he looks great in uniform Wink
I'm off, got a lot of catching up to do. Catch ya tomorrow.

    Stupid is as.......

    You Just Can't Fix Stupid!!

    ONE
Recently, when I went to McDonald's I saw on the menu that you could have an order of 6, 9 or 12 Chicken McNuggets. I asked for a half dozen nuggets. 'We don't have half dozen nuggets,' said the teenager at the counter. 'You don't?' I replied. 'We only have six, nine, or twelve,' was the reply. 'So I can't order a half dozen nuggets, but I can order six?' 'That's right.' So I shook my head and ordered six McNuggets

    TWO

I was checking out at the local Wal-Mart with just a few items and the lady behind me put her things on the belt close to mine. I picked up one of those 'dividers' that they keep by the cash register and placed it between our things so they wouldn't get mixed. After the girl had scanned all of my items, she picked up the 'divider', looking it all over for the bar code so she could scan it. Not finding the bar c ode she said to me, 'Do you know how much this is?' I said to her 'I've changed my mind, I don't think I'll buy that today. ' She said 'OK,' and I paid her for the things and left. She had no clue to what had just happened.

    THREE
A lady at work was seen putting a credit card into her floppy drive and pulling it out very quickly. When I inquired as to what she was doing, she said she was shopping on the Internet and they kept asking for a credit card number, so she was using the ATM 'thingy.'

    FOUR
I recently saw a distraught young lady weeping beside her car. ' Do you need some help?' I asked. She replied, 'I knew I should have replaced the battery to this remote door unlocker. Now I can't get into my car. Do you think they (pointing to a distant convenience store) would have a battery to fit this?' 'Hmmm, I dunno. Do you have an alarm, too?' I asked. 'No, just this remote thingy,' she answered, handing it and the car keys to me. As I took the key and manually unlocked the door, I replied, 'Why don't you drive over there and check about the batteries. It's a long walk.'

    FIVE

Several years ago, we had an Intern who was none too swift. One day she was typing and turned to a secretary and said, 'I'm almost out of typing paper. What do I do?' 'Just use copier machine paper,' the secretary told her. With that, the intern took her last remaining blank piece of paper, put it on the photocopier and proceeded to make five 'blank' copies.

    SIX
I was in a car dealership a while ago, when a large motor home was towed into the garage. The front of the vehicle was in dire need of repair and the whole thing generally looked like an extra in 'Twister.' I asked the manager what had happened. He told me that the driver had set the 'cruise control' and then went in the back to make a sandwich.

    SEVEN
My neighbor works in the operations department in the central office of a large bank. Employees in the field call him when they have problems with their computers. One night he got a call from a woman in one of the branch banks who had this question: 'I've got smoke coming from the back of my terminal. Do you guys have a fire downtown?'

    EIGHT
Police in Radnor , Pa. interrogated a suspect by placing a metal colander on his head and connecting it with wires to a photocopy machine. The message 'He's lying' was placed in the copier, and police pressed the copy button each time they thought the suspect wasn't telling the truth.. Believing the 'lie detector' was working, the suspect confessed.

    NINE
A mother calls 911 very worried asking the dispatcher if she needs to take her kid to the emergency room, the kid was eating ants. The dispatcher tells her to give the kid some Benadryl and it should be fine .. The mother says, I just gave him some ant killer.....
Dispatcher: Rush him to the emergency room!

Life is tough.   It's tougher if you're    stupid
and remember - these people can vote.

    Baby update

Morning all, an update on the little fella that was injured in the car, he is in critical condition. He sustained two fractures to the skull. I know you all will keep this poor thing and family in your prayers.
    September 04

    RAIN

Well, we did get lots of rain, the system had stalled and finally started moving through. I sat on my balcony yesterday and just soaked it all in. The rain will move out today, but the clouds will remain. That's ok all the greenery needed a break from the hot sun. The bad thing is all the rice farmers around will have to delay harvest for awhile.
Thank you friends for the nice comments and concerns, I send out prayers to all the misplaced families along the coast. Most of the evacuees either have left or are leaving to try to make it back to their homes in LA. and MS.
There was a terrible accident yesterday afternoon a block from here, a freakish thing really. A huge old, old, tree suddenly broke and fell on four cars that were parked near it. There were three adults and a baby involved. The adults suffered mild scratches and injuries, but the baby in one car had to be air lifted to the trama center in Memphis. No reports this morning on how the poor thing is, my heart goes out to the terrified mother as well as prayers. This happened about rush hour and caused a major traffic backup on Main street. All four lanes were closed and traffic redirected. It was still blocked off this morning. It will take a while to remove the tree, it was huge.  The freaky thing was there was no high wind or rain, the tree just broke and fell over. Goes to show, you just never know.
Everyone, take care and have a good weekend.
    September 02

    No rain yet

Well, no rain yet and it is 2:18pm. Hopefully the bad stuff will stay just south of us. And thank you for the concerns, I am not afraid, I just feel bad for the ones who are affected. I been there done that enough times on my own. I know what it's like.
Some of you may be wondering omg what has she done now, but since I've got all this time on my hands, well.......you get the picture.
     Anyway, ta for now.

    After Holiday

Just want to send out a prayer of hope for everyone in Gustav's path. Thank God New Orleans wasn't hurt anymore than it was, and pray God is with those who were affected directly by the damage. We are expecting up to 15 inches of rain from Gustav by 9:30 am. It is getting dark outside now as I type this. The trees outside my living room widow are doing the dance. I have a few errands to run before the deluge so I will make this post pretty quick.  For those who were not affected by the storms I hope they had a great weekend. It was pretty nice here. We didn't do much, cooked out at my daughters and just hung out. I am still trying to adjust to being off from work. I find someone has my week or day pretty much planned for me. Between taking one of my daughters to hospital for surgery, grandkids to school, and of course, mom will you go do this for me today? Plus my own errands like Dr appointments, Social Security office appts. and bill paying yea I pretty much stay busy.
That's about it for today, see ya tomorrow.
