    Thank you Rhonda

Hey all, this is just a little thank you from my dear friend and lil sis Rhonda, and you everyone else for the nice comments left on her place about the pic I did of her little angel. Emma has just the cutest little face. The portrait that Al did was fantastic. He is a very accomplished artist. For me, doing faces is the hardest part of drawing, I cheated on Emma's and put a few of my granddaughters likeness in there. My daughter said it looked just like Zoe. Anyway, Emma was the inpiration.

The weather is absolutely gorgeous here today, they are having a block party at a Methodist Church a couple blocks over and from the sound of the music they are all having a great time. I am expecting two of my little nieces in a few minutes and we will probably head over there for burgers, soft drinks, music and fun and games.

Hope everyone else has a great weekend.

    New tunes

Hey all, decided to change the music up a little and add a little Marvin, I took the Rock and Roll test on Rhonda's page and got me all notalgically feeling. So I went back and added my favorites from Marvin. Hope you like it. Oh, by the way, I scored 8 out of 11. Pretty good huh? Just don't ask me about any of the groups from late 80's on. Life was being very unforgiving during that time.

So enjoy the music, and catch you later.

    Yea!!!!!

Sorry to be away for so long. My net was disconnected until today. My sickpay from work finally got started. It has been rough, but I am here now. I will get to draw sick pay for the next six months, so I will be around til then. I really missed coming by everyday. And to the new friends who have invited me hello. I hope those who were affected by Ike are doing well now. It was crazy there for a day or two.
I got to go to my grandson's first football game they won 20 to 12. He made two tackles and intersepted one. We were proud. His dad mostly. My grandson is playing linebacker for the 9th grade. And yes, he looks great in uniform Wink
I'm off, got a lot of catching up to do. Catch ya tomorrow.

    Stupid is as.......

    You Just Can't Fix Stupid!!

    ONE
Recently, when I went to McDonald's I saw on the menu that you could have an order of 6, 9 or 12 Chicken McNuggets. I asked for a half dozen nuggets. 'We don't have half dozen nuggets,' said the teenager at the counter. 'You don't?' I replied. 'We only have six, nine, or twelve,' was the reply. 'So I can't order a half dozen nuggets, but I can order six?' 'That's right.' So I shook my head and ordered six McNuggets

I was checking out at the local Wal-Mart with just a few items and the lady behind me put her things on the belt close to mine. I picked up one of those 'dividers' that they keep by the cash register and placed it between our things so they wouldn't get mixed. After the girl had scanned all of my items, she picked up the 'divider', looking it all over for the bar code so she could scan it. Not finding the bar c ode she said to me, 'Do you know how much this is?' I said to her 'I've changed my mind, I don't think I'll buy that today. ' She said 'OK,' and I paid her for the things and left. She had no clue to what had just happened.

A lady at work was seen putting a credit card into her floppy drive and pulling it out very quickly. When I inquired as to what she was doing, she said she was shopping on the Internet and they kept asking for a credit card number, so she was using the ATM 'thingy.'

    FOUR
I recently saw a distraught young lady weeping beside her car. ' Do you need some help?' I asked. She replied, 'I knew I should have replaced the battery to this remote door unlocker. Now I can't get into my car. Do you think they (pointing to a distant convenience store) would have a battery to fit this?' 'Hmmm, I dunno. Do you have an alarm, too?' I asked. 'No, just this remote thingy,' she answered, handing it and the car keys to me. As I took the key and manually unlocked the door, I replied, 'Why don't you drive over there and check about the batteries. It's a long walk.'

Several years ago, we had an Intern who was none too swift. One day she was typing and turned to a secretary and said, 'I'm almost out of typing paper. What do I do?' 'Just use copier machine paper,' the secretary told her. With that, the intern took her last remaining blank piece of paper, put it on the photocopier and proceeded to make five 'blank' copies.

I was in a car dealership a while ago, when a large motor home was towed into the garage. The front of the vehicle was in dire need of repair and the whole thing generally looked like an extra in 'Twister.' I asked the manager what had happened. He told me that the driver had set the 'cruise control' and then went in the back to make a sandwich.

My neighbor works in the operations department in the central office of a large bank. Employees in the field call him when they have problems with their computers. One night he got a call from a woman in one of the branch banks who had this question: 'I've got smoke coming from the back of my terminal. Do you guys have a fire downtown?'

Police in Radnor , Pa. interrogated a suspect by placing a metal colander on his head and connecting it with wires to a photocopy machine. The message 'He's lying' was placed in the copier, and police pressed the copy button each time they thought the suspect wasn't telling the truth.. Believing the 'lie detector' was working, the suspect confessed.

A mother calls 911 very worried asking the dispatcher if she needs to take her kid to the emergency room, the kid was eating ants. The dispatcher tells her to give the kid some Benadryl and it should be fine .. The mother says, I just gave him some ant killer.....
Dispatcher: Rush him to the emergency room!

Life is tough.   It's tougher if you're    stupid

    Baby update

Morning all, an update on the little fella that was injured in the car, he is in critical condition. He sustained two fractures to the skull. I know you all will keep this poor thing and family in your prayers.

    RAIN

Well, we did get lots of rain, the system had stalled and finally started moving through. I sat on my balcony yesterday and just soaked it all in. The rain will move out today, but the clouds will remain. That's ok all the greenery needed a break from the hot sun. The bad thing is all the rice farmers around will have to delay harvest for awhile.
Thank you friends for the nice comments and concerns, I send out prayers to all the misplaced families along the coast. Most of the evacuees either have left or are leaving to try to make it back to their homes in LA. and MS.
There was a terrible accident yesterday afternoon a block from here, a freakish thing really. A huge old, old, tree suddenly broke and fell on four cars that were parked near it. There were three adults and a baby involved. The adults suffered mild scratches and injuries, but the baby in one car had to be air lifted to the trama center in Memphis. No reports this morning on how the poor thing is, my heart goes out to the terrified mother as well as prayers. This happened about rush hour and caused a major traffic backup on Main street. All four lanes were closed and traffic redirected. It was still blocked off this morning. It will take a while to remove the tree, it was huge.  The freaky thing was there was no high wind or rain, the tree just broke and fell over. Goes to show, you just never know.
Everyone, take care and have a good weekend.

    No rain yet

Well, no rain yet and it is 2:18pm. Hopefully the bad stuff will stay just south of us. And thank you for the concerns, I am not afraid, I just feel bad for the ones who are affected. I been there done that enough times on my own. I know what it's like.
Some of you may be wondering omg what has she done now, but since I've got all this time on my hands, well.......you get the picture.
     Anyway, ta for now.

    After Holiday

Just want to send out a prayer of hope for everyone in Gustav's path. Thank God New Orleans wasn't hurt anymore than it was, and pray God is with those who were affected directly by the damage. We are expecting up to 15 inches of rain from Gustav by 9:30 am. It is getting dark outside now as I type this. The trees outside my living room widow are doing the dance. I have a few errands to run before the deluge so I will make this post pretty quick.  For those who were not affected by the storms I hope they had a great weekend. It was pretty nice here. We didn't do much, cooked out at my daughters and just hung out. I am still trying to adjust to being off from work. I find someone has my week or day pretty much planned for me. Between taking one of my daughters to hospital for surgery, grandkids to school, and of course, mom will you go do this for me today? Plus my own errands like Dr appointments, Social Security office appts. and bill paying yea I pretty much stay busy.
That's about it for today, see ya tomorrow.
