April 26 Prayer Is Good I just want to thank everyone who has been so supportive and the prayers for my dad's recovery. It worked. He went home Wed. after the defibulator was inserted on Tues. He had a very restful last couple of nights. He said he felt like a new man and asked God to bless everyone who sent a prayer his way. So, There, that proves it, PRAYER IS GOOD! Never let anyone try to tell you different. I have to work today, but I want to wish you all the best weekend ever! And I send all my love your way. April 19 More to move-augggh First let me thank all who have had me in their prayers. May God bless each of you. It has helped. Dad hasn't had the defibulator yet, he developed fluid on the lungs, phnemonia on the right lung plus everything else. He was in a touch and go situation all week. They moved him to ICU to help get him stronger. He got up and walked down the hall yesterday, and sat up in bed to eat!!!!!!! Between sitting with him, working, and trying to move all week I'm bushed. I finally got back online yesterday but didn't have time to chat. I still have a lot to move today and tomorrow, but that should do it. Thanks again for all your kind support, and have a beautiful weekend. You deserve it! April 13 Just thinking I was going through all the comments and pics all my friends here have sent since I have joined this site. I have forgotten a lot of them and feel quilty about not returning the gestures. I just want everyone to know I appreciate all the comments and gifts, I also appreciate all the prayers and sentiments. I get busy with life as well as you and don't get to visit everyones pages as much as I would like. My daughters father-in-law is in very critical condition as well as my father. Dad is steadily going down-hill. He has gotten so weak this last week and weekend that he can't feed himself, he's still fighting though, he is always suggesting to the nurse and doctors what may work to get him better. They are doing their best for him. His heart is very weak. The electordes that his heart produces are shorting out. That is what is causing his heart to stop. The bad thing is when they do an EKG it doesn't show that he is or has had an attack because there is no damage. It just stops. So he dies a little everytime he has one. He has been passing blood clots from his bladder all weekend, it has started to clear and they hope to insert the defibrulater tomorrow. I really hope it will help and be done in time. But on the upside, he is ready to go "home". He said he is tired and ready to rest now. After 80 years he is the only one in his family that has made it this far. He said enough is enough but only God knows when he has had enough and he trusts His judgement. He still has his humor. My daughter asked him what he did with mom's dentures, he said he threw them away. Karen:"They didn't bury her with them?"
Dad:"No, they were afraid she choke to death"
Only my dad would come up with something like that.
Night all. April 10 Now this is stress I have been out this week and weekend. I have been helping take care of dad and grandkids. First, the three grandkids I haven't seen in almost six years came to spend the weekend and Mon. and Tues. with me as their grandfather decided to act like a jerk and shoot himself. Alas, he lives to make their lives even more complicated. That's all I have to say about that. The same time my dad was in and out of two hospitals here in the last week. He almost died in my arms this morning while in the cardiologists office. The Dr. and the Paramedics where able to resusitate him whith the help of the paddles. Later dad asked me if the Dr. gave him the shock treatment I said no the paramedics did. He said,"Well whoever did it hurt! I came off the table about 3ft and floundered like a dead fish." He's very descriptive. That is something I realy don't want to go through again. My mom died in my arms, it hurts too much. He is resting now in the MCIU wing. They are going to insert a defibrulator in the morning even though the surgen doesn't think his heart is strong enough. Dad insisted. He said the two angels that were waiting for him said it wasn't time yet. So it may be a while before I get back. Tomorrow will tell. Keep us in your prayers. April 03 Food for thought After boarding a plane and getting settled the preacher looked around the plane at the other passangers. Across the isle was a little girl reading a book. Obviously she was traveling alone. During the flight they encountered turbulent weather. The weather became worse and the plane was tossed up and down, like a rollercoaster ride. The preacher became nervous and the other passangers began voicing their concerns as well, all but the little girl. She would look up from her book from time to time adjust her sitting position, but remained calm. After the plane landed, the preacher saw the little girl sitting alone, waiting for someone. To keep her from being alone he approached her and sat next to her and began to talk to her. Finally he asked her if she was frightened by all the turbulent weather. She simply said,"My daddy is the pilot and he is taking me home." April 01 Just sharing I just wanted to share something I heard on the radio last night, and I don't mean to offend non-believers.
I went out to my car on supper break last night and listened to the radio, relaxing. A local church posts little stories inviting people to attend their services and this one particular story was cute.
A third grade teacher, who was much admired and loved by her class, announced she was an atheist. She asked how many of her students were also atheists. Wanting to impress her, the whole class raised their hands enthusiaticly. All but one little girl. The teacher asked her "Don't you want to be like all your friends?" She answered "No". The teacher then asked her what she believed. The little girl confidantly answered,"I am a Christian."
"How do you know"
"My mother and father are Chritstians and they are teaching me to be one"
"If your mother and father were morons what would that make you?"
The little girl thought for a moment, sat up straight and answered, "An atheist."
Just thought I would share. |
