March 29 Something Different? I bet everyone is going "Ewww, what did she do to her site?" Well I wanted a change my other one was nice, calming, a nice place to come home to. But, like my life, it is ever changing. I decided I needed to shake things up a bit. I am still the same person, just more of me (no size pun intended). My favorite color is red. and I do like the music on my player. Actually they are the same tapes and CD's I have here at home and listen to. It is spring, and I quess I wanted a spring feel to my site. I don't know how long I will leave it like this, I almost have to put on my shades, the light is so bright compared to the other one. One thing about it it does wake you up. I had to tone down the monitor when I am here. Anyway, everyone have a great weekend. ![]() March 27 HelloHello again freinds, I have been so busy. I know that is not a good excuse but it is the only one I have. It looks like spring is finally here. The weather is great a little cloudy but the new blooms need it. I'm getting ready to head out the door and start another day at the ol' job. I think I inhaled enough paint last night to drive any respiratory therapist crazy. If you were to look at my lungs they would look like a kaliediscope. No, really, some uncaring person dumped a whole bag(50lbs) of gray on the floor last night. And since it is powder paint it flew everywhere. And guess who got to clean it up? Yep, since our booth didn't have any parts coming in(we are green), I was available. Next time I'm hiding out in the bathroom. Anyway just another day. Same ol', same ol'. You all have agreat day. March 19 It was the eyedrops! Who would have thunk it? One of dad's many Dr. asked him if he was using any other prescribed medicines and he said just this and handed her his eyedrop medicine for glucoma, she looked at it and told him to throw it in the trash, the tests came back that he was allergic to it. The warning label said it could cause heart patients to experience heart attacks! Dad never gave it a thought the first 2 times. So now he has to get his eye doctor to put him on something else. I told him if I had to choose between losing sight in one eye and dying of a heart attack, I would lose the eye. I have had four attacks since 2006 and they are not fun. So we get to go see him on Easter after all. Have a great weekend everyone. You all are in my prayers and hugs and kisses to you all. Dad went home![]() Morning Comments & Graphics Morning, dad got to go home yesterday. I still don't know the cause of his attacks, hopefully it was his blood pressure meds. I am so glad I have one more day of the hole I call work. I can tell I'm getting too old for this, work, I hate having to get up and get ready just to go to a job to get dirty. Well, ya'll have a good day anyway. Love and hugs to all!
AgainWell, I don't know what is up with my Dad, he was admitted to the hospital again. He just went home Mon. and had another attack Thursday. His blood pressure keeps falling. The heart doctor says it is not his heart. But something has to be causing it. So he's back and this time a Neurologis is going to check him out. She says she will turn him every which way but loose until she finds out what is causing his chest pains. So keep us in your prayers and have a Great Sunday. March 12 Wed. Well, dad got to go home yesterday. He was feeling pretty good. He even flirted with the nurse. They were comparing their dimples. He's such a mess. Anyway they believe a small blood clot had worked it's way through his chest causing him to have a heart attack. They did a lung MRI on him yesterday morning. But he appeared to be alright. He was glad to go home, but honestly, I think he really likes the attention he gets when he is in the hospital. It is so nice here today, it is going to get into the 70's. We are having a regular heat wave. Have a good rest of the week and thank you for the lovely comments and concern about dad.
March 10 Dad's ok Thank you my friends for the thoughtful comments, and dad had his heart cath done this morning and the doctor said he is lucky this time, but, he needs to take it easy and he upped his blood thinner. His heart is slowly wearing out. When the doctor asked him how old he was dad said 80 but it's tough when you're 39 and holding. My dad. He still has a sense of humor. He said it's best to laugh because you never know when you will see God, and he doesn't like frowns. It kinda makes sense when you think about it. You usually smile when introduced to a stranger. The doctor is going to let him go home tomorrow but he has to come back in two weeks. I asked dad what he was going to do on Easter Weekend, he said,"I won't be here."
"Yes you will."
"No I won't. I'll probably be dead."
"Don't talk like that, you'll be here."
"No."
"Well I have 3 days off and thought about coming up to visit."
"Oh, well, come on up."
"That's what I thought."
This is how our conversations go. He has been threatening to be dead for 15 years now. I know one of these days he will but until then I can still aggravate him. March 09 Here today gone tomorrow I know it has been awhile since I last blogged, but as life is it happens. I have been very busy, between work, and family I've not had much time to visit all my wonderful and caring friends. We did get about seven inches of snow on Friday, it was beautiful to us as we don't see much of it here. But, it is already gone. That's what's different about ARKANSAS, the weather always changes. It will get up to the upper 50's today and 60's by the middle of the week. As some of you may know, our family had planned a birthday party for my father's 80th for yesterday. But we had to make changes, instead of a resturant, we had to have the mini-party in St. Bernard's hospital. He had a heart attack on Friday afternoon and was admitted to the hopital. We had his party there and he was so delighted. He felt bad that he had messed up our previous plans. We weren't. He was still here and for that we were thankful. I will go see him a little later. Keep us in your prayers, and everyone have a great week. Hugs to you all. March 01 Grammy Brag Time Ok, you know those old women that have these little photo brag books about their grandchildren, well this is better I get to get out to more people.:), I was honored to go to the Brookland High School Jr ROTC Military Ball this evening. Much to our surprise, as well as my grandaughter, Emily, she was awarded the Platoon Commander of 2009. She was so surprised, it took her a moment to realize she had to rise and accept her promotion. My other grandaughter, Chirsta, was awarded the Purple Heart of Participation as Second Lt., best presense, and most academic. My grandson was awarded third marksman award for having a 225 average in sharpshooting as a Private First Class,(this is his first year), and he also was awarded best presense(wearing his uniform most of the year), and participation award. Yep, yep, yep, I'm kinda proud. They all had a good time and everyone was so beautiful. We also had a fallen soldier table as one of the parents that acted as chaperone on many of the trips and outings was suddenly taken last Mon. by the flu. He was 34 and had 3 children in ROTC. Everyone was overcome with emotion as his wife was presented with an award for him. He will be greatly missed. After the color post and a few announcements, we had a lovely dinner. Afterward the Colnol presented the awards, after witch the kids enjoyed a dance. That's when I left, they worked hard all year and deserved that time as their own. All in all it was fun. Oh yeah, by the way, I looked good!!!! |
